Scenario
After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, makes a move to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Except for the bat in the last scene of the season finale, we’ve never had a cameo from Robert Pattinson in « The Penguin. » In this short video, IMDb tries to answer: Where the hell was Batman? Colin Farrell fought hard to make The Penguin smoke in Batman (2022), but to no avail. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional smoker, preferring to smoke cigars.
Farrell STEALS this series
An umbrella falls and the emblem changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Starring Graham Norton and favorites: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). Impressive.
There’s nothing cartoonish about it
There’s nothing about the character that suggests Farrell. The New York accent, the limp and the mannerisms, the attitude: you’ll swear it’s a different person. The incredible prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character. The show is gritty and graphic.
Well-written and tight
It’s a great match for Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blows Marvel’s line out of the water. I hope there’s a second season, but I know it’s limited. Damn.
